If you’re the fan of the Giz Wiz Show you know this past winter there was a lot of damage to some hand-built structures in the Gizneyland backyard. I put up a series of umbrellas to keep some snow from hitting the ground so Charlie could sniff around out there without getting buried and Dennis & I could get to our mini-greenhouse. Now that the weather shows signs of warmth I wondered if I could get one huge umbrella to cover a fairly large amount of space in the yard. And could I find one with an offset arm so we wouldn’t have have a big stand in the middle of the yard to get around. On Amazon I found the Greesum 10′ offset umbrella. The company says it’s not only waterproof, but sun-proof, fade resistant and rust-proof. I have no idea what they mean when they say: “Screw-in pole design can make the umbrella easy to use and adjust” because the umbrella snaps together. The instructions are almost non-existent, but I think we did an okay job putting it together. You’ll see how we did in the video on this week’s show. Also I doubt it’s “easy to assemble for one person’. It’s big and a bit cumbersome until it’s put together. Also after you open the box, you find a sheet of paper that says: “must be used with base, sold separately.” It does come with a barebones base which you’ll also in the video which is what we used. The price was amazing for the quality, under $80 on Amazon. It’s available in many colors. It’s only been up for ten days so I can’t report on how long it will last but it’s already been through two rain storms and it kept us all nice and dry!
