The demo for this was something quite different from most school videos. Be sure to watch this week’s show to see students lift images off a computer screen and examine them in 3D! (But listen to Chad’s comments because he thinks it probably doesn’t work quite this well in real life.) There are two zSpace devices; an AIO (All In One Computer) and a Laptop version. School can use the AIO (All In One) device as a demonstration station or for small group instruction, while laptops are more for personalized learning for students. The market for zSpace is mainly for schools, businesses, professionals building 3D models, etc. They have a software tailored for many specialized industries. I asked for a ballpark $ figure for the two zSpace device and Joe Parlier, Sr. Director, zSpace Education Solutions said the laptop is about $1800 and the AIO, with a 24” screen is about $4400. There is a lot of info and tech specs at the company website, as well as many videos.
