Chad polled our loyal Patreons and for Chad’s September theme they picked: Mimic Gadgets OR: “Things that look like one thing, but do another.”
Chad’s first “mimic gadget” is the JTX Kitchen Timer Cooking Timer Reminder 60-Minute Mechanical Countdown Clock Time Management.
That’s a long title for a tiny gadget. Here’s a bit of info from the company: Fun and cute, the timer is made of plastic. It’s 2.4 x 3.7 x 4 inch – perfect size for your kitchen countertop or desk. The charming mixer design add an adorable point of interest to your kitchen gadgets. Easy to use and clean: wipe with a damp cloth. $13.99 & Amazon Prime.
And Chad’s take. Chad thought this was cute, and the price was reasonable. But he ntoes that it works in a strange way. If you want like 5 minutes, you can’t just rotate it to the number 5. You have to rotate the device clockwise to “55” and then rotate it counterclockwise to any time you need. (We all figured you have to do that in order to wind the alarm bell that goes off at the end of the time you set. You’ll see and hear it all on this week’s show.) In general Chad thought this was a decent buy and a good mini-gift idea.
