On last week’s show we featured a handy portable pump. It didn’t inflate the ball I wanted to use for a demo, but I got some tips from Chad on what kind of pump attachment I needed. Instead of spending money on an attachment, I bought another handy-dandy(?) portable air pump. And from the chatroom and emails it seem people are interested in portable air pumps that are made for cars, bikes, motorcycles, sports balls, and inflatable toys. My second pump is the Powools portable air pump ‘with a powerful motor and a high-performance chip, providing a maximum pressure of 150PSI and a strong airflow’ says the company. They add: Equipped with high-capacity rechargeable batteries, the Powools car tire air pump with portable design offers extended use without frequent recharging. A single charge provides enough power to inflate 2 car tires, 25 bike tires, or 60 balls, continuously working for up to 25 minutes. A type-C charging cable and the accessory I needed for my ball are included. And how did it work? Watch this week’s show to see it in action. MSRP: $49.99, but it was $29.99 on 3/27/25. And there is often a coupon to save even more on their web page.

Want An Easy To See If A Wire Has AC Power?
I’m always having to check on writing in the backyard, either for the lights out there, or for the various parts of my outdoor LGB trains. So I bought the NJTY Dual Range Electrical Tester. It has an Integrated LED flashlight and for some reason a red Laser pointer light. What I really like about is their “Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) detection”, meaning you just need run the device over a wire to know if there’s power going through it or not. Via a button on the side choose “High” sensitivity for a range of 12 V-1000 V or “Low” sensitivity for 48 V-1000 V. It’s powered by two AAA batteries which were included and there’s an automatic shutdown after five minutes of inactivity. Best of all is the price. It was around $7.75 as on 3/28/25 on Amazon.

Now Where Did I Put Those Nuts & Bolts?
I have a lot of small items all over Gizneyland. So when I saw the neat Vevor stackable storage bins, I thought they would be a big help. The company says they’re designed to be space-saving and super flexible. They’re like building blocks for your clutter, allowing you to mix and match to your heart’s content in cabinets, on desks, or in storage rooms. Well, you certainly get a box of building blocks. Between the bins and the 98 fasteners, you have more than 100 pieces to work with. I agree they seem strong, “made from sturdy PP material” according to the company. They’re said to be perfect for offices, kitchens, and kids’ rooms, but I didn’t find them all that easy to build, although I have a unit of nine of them, that I am using already. Judge if they’re from you when you exactly what you get when you buy them on Amazon. Also notice they made a kit with much larger bins if that’s what you’re looking for. MSRP: $25.99 is what it cost for the set I bought.

Chad’s Crappy Corner
The March Theme for Chad’s Crappy Corner voted on by our loyal Patreons is Dual-Purpose Gadgets! Why settle for one function when you can have two? But do these multi-use gadgets actually work, or are they just twice as bad? Chad’s final gadget is the Cowjag Cat Toys, Laser Pointer with 5 Adjustable Patterns.
This is a fun toy with three modes of play for indoor cats. The first mode (red) can be used as an interactive toy for pet dogs and cats to play and chase, and also for lectures; the third mode (white) can be used as a mini-flashlight. Chad and his cats loved playing with device. Chad was not crazy about the USB charging, which involves taking the end cap off and plugging the device into an A port on your computer. A rolling gear has 5 patterns (star/butterfly/smile/mouse/standard dot) for your pets to play with. There’s even a black light option. Best of all is the price, just $6.99.
