The “Best Of” 2024 — Gadgets Chad & I Liked A Lot!
Okay, so it’s really not billed as a “disco alarm clock”, but it does have ever-changing RGB colors on the clock face as one of the options. (My favorite, of course!) Never heard of the brand, but it’s pronounceable: Topski. The bed shaker, which is designed for heavy sleepers, makes a racket, especially if you leave it on a hard surface like a nightstand. You’ll see and hear it in my video on this week’s show. If RGB is not your thing it’s easy to set the clock digits to a solid color. There’s also a nightlight feature, battery back-up and a USB charging port in the back. Plus, you cam dim all the lights all the way down to zero. I think it’s an amazing clock for under $20. If you don’t need the ‘shaker’ option, it about $5 cheaper!

From Chad’s Cheap Office Gadget spot he finds and loves the: OOKUU 2 in 1 Desk Cup Holder with Headphone Hanger.
Chad drinks a lot of water everyday and needed a way to hold his huge 40oz container on the demo table which has no selves. He found this sturdy cup and headphone holder on Amazon. It’s made of aluminum alloy and said to withstand various temperatures, perfect for hot or cold drinks. You’ll see Chad install it in a minute or two with its adjustable screw base. The company says it can hold up to 11 pounds. The headphone holder with 360° rotating arm provides a versatile storage option for hanging headphones, hats, cables, etc. The 2 in 1 Cup holder fits table thicknesses from 0.31″ to 1.96″. From Chad’s Cheap Office Gadgets spot, Chad loved The Nelko Mini Thermal Label Printer.
Chad likes this mini label maker a lot. It’s a wireless Bluetooth device small enough to slip into a pocket, allowing printing anytime, anywhere. You download the app to use it, but there’s one for either iOS or Android. It charges via USB-C, which of course, Chad loves. But Chad says the thermal printed labels are on the ‘thin’ side and it seems replacement rolls of thermal paper are expensive and might be hard to find. And it can only print black text. You’ll see it in action on this week’s show and get a lot more details as Chad does a demo. It was under $20 when Chad bought in March 2024 and it was still under $20 on 1/10/25. But prices on Amazon can change at any time.

This Gadget Started Out As A “What The Heck Is It?”
It was pretty hard to guess that what looked like a vase is really a Wireless Vase Doorbell Kit. The object is, if you need a simple push button door bell, why do you need to hang a box with speaker and the works on the wall. Hide them all is a weathered wood accent vase! Requires 6 “AA” batteries (Not included). Range is said to be up to 250 ft. It did very well in the limited testing I did. Great sound and adjustable Volume. One wireless push button included, and that has it’s own battery installed. 10 Selectable Tunes. Max sound 85 decibels. I bought mind on Pulse TV for $14.99, plus $6.99 shipping.

Chad finds a gadget he’s crazy about! It’s the reMarkable 2 Paper Tablet.
Chad loves this digital tablet to take notes, which he says he does often. Being digital, the pages are endless, just keep scrolling and there’s always a new blank writing surface. It’s not back lit, so you can’t use it in the dark, but Chad said in bright light and even outdoors, there’s no problem reading or writing with it. He also said it’s the thinnest electronic writing device he’s ever seen or used. The company says it’s just 4.7 mm, the world’s thinnest tablet. You’ll have to watch this week’s show to see Chad’s demo and excitement about the product. Now it’s not inexpensive. There’s a model for $499.00, but the high end model which includes the reMarkable 2 with 10.3″ display and the Marker Plus, the reMarkable pen with built-in eraser.
This is the model Chad has and it was $449 on 1/10/25. Check the latest price on Amazon:

It’s A New Kind Of LED Bulb! Meet the Feit Electric 6-Way LED Light Bulb.
When I saw this LED light bulb on Amazon, I thought “how the heck did they do that?” How do they let you switch between 5 modes of light without needing an app. What they did was let you choose easily between 5 LED bulb colors: Warm, Neutral, Cool, Daylight and Daylight Deluxe via a switch right on the bulb! (I guess ‘off’ is the 6th option.) You choose one of those light color temperatures with a flip of a switch that built right into the side of the LED bulb! The company says it’s compatible with most dimmers and you can adjust the light brightness from 10% to 100%. The 9W LED bulb is a replacement for 60W incandescent bulbs, saving up to 85% on your energy bill. BUT BE AWARE: this is NOT A SMART LIGHT BULB, you make all the adjustments locally, right on the bulb, or with the light switch. Many of the negative reviews mention they couldn’t pair it with an app. That’s because it’s listed right on Amazon as ‘not a smart light bulb’. For what they can do, I thought they were inexpensive too considering that neat feature: Price was 2 bulbs for under $14.00 as of 1/10/25

It’s Easy To Get Steamed!
This made the “Best of” list because it can clean and sterilize so many things in the home quickly. (Things like sponges, toothbrushes, etc.) When I first saw the Clorox 2-Tier Electric Steam Sanitizer, I figured it used, well Clorox. But it doesn’t. The spokesperson explained that this device is a steam cleaner and sterilizer that reaches deep into fabrics, cracks and crevices for thorough sensitization, and it only needs water. no need to throw away your sponges too soon or use wasteful paper towels to clean up messes. Use a single tier to do if you just have a few items, or stack both tiers to sanitize several items at the same time. The process takes about 12 to 14 minutes and the unit automatically turns off when sanitizing is complete. MSRP: $49.99. The one thing negative we mentioned on the show about this gadget is that it would so much nicer if it was $39.99.
